A railway worker is connecting the train carts and the new engine from the Republika Srpska. The Bosnian & Herzegovinian engine is replaced by an engine of the Republika Srpska entity in Doboj. <br />
In December 2009, 17 years after the war in Bosnia ended, a new direct train connection opened between Sarajevo in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Belgrade in Serbia. Despite bureaucratic difficulties (the engine of the train has to be changed four times during the 9 hour journey) and small passenger numbers, the openeing is seen as a step towards an easing of the tensions in the region.<br />
